August 31st, 2009

The recent passing of Massachusetts U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy and the ongoing debate over health care reform in the United States has focused a tremendous amount of attention on the subject of dying and its place in modern health care.

Ira R. Byock, M.D., Director of Palliative Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), was one of the guests on the August 31 edition of the National Public Radio show “Talk of the Nation.” The title of the show was “Making Plans For The Last Chapter Of Life.”
